Its terrible service really when you think about it, I think the NHS system only works when you are literally at deaths door, as was my father a few years ago. This is where I actually saw the NHS work as it was designed to do, but the system soon fails again when the patient gets released home.

I have just had my third MRI, for three different reasons, brain, prostate, then latest kidneys. The appointments appear in around a month from request - at standard speed. My second, for my prostate came through as 'an urgent' in 7 days and they wanted to do it on a Sunday, but I couldn't make it, so rearranged for the Monday out of hours, then declared 'no problem'.
I haven't really used the medical services before, but I must say I am very impressed with the NHS's care of me generally.
The only time I have really been less than impressed, was when I was rushed in with massive blood loss in the early hours, in shock, left on a trolley, cold not offered a blanket and over-heating unable to get a fan, then the terrible food.
