Well, the hospital visit with my sister went well this afternoon. Her chemotherapy has halted the growth in the cancer for the time being. We know it can't be cured, but arresting its progress is the next best thing. Radiotherapy is not deemed useful - which I think was a relief - some of the side effects can be pretty horrible. For the time being, it's a case of getting on with life. To that end, we've just booked a 4 bedroom bungalow near Scarborough for a long weekend in early December. Me and the missus, son, daughter-in-law, two grandbairns - and of course, big sister - are going to spend a few days being a family out in the sticks with a few different walls to look at for a while.

The worst part of the day was getting from the hospital car park to the main road - one and a half hours for approx. 250 yards in the persisting rain - and that was after I got soaked walking to the car park in the first place  |
Better news then.
A break even just a few miles away will be a change for you all.
Traffic sounds horrid to say the least.
