Hi Mick.
You will need to wipe the engine over with old rags first, the get some cheap paint brushes make your self a container up of washing powder mixed with luke warm water, any cheap stuff will do work that that in with the brushes, wipe again with old rags keep clear of the electric items, check your alternator first to see if it as been coated in diesel if so if can damage it, what a nightmare
