Public liability insurance the clue is in the name 'public' not your mates. Someone can sue you for just about anything if they are sad enough , it doesnt mean they will win and they would be liable for costs if they didn't. If you are tinkering with cars socially with a friend and have house insurance it really isnt somerthing to worry about. Lets not get too hung up on 21st century mumbo pleeeeease.
