I've been down this road, and I think that a diesel loom DIY is possible (and in fact, I believe that it has even been done before by Nick at Austin Garages?)
My research on this before I too discovered that my car did not have the cruise loom fitted (argh!) Wiring things up ought not to be too difficult?
