Try bleeding the clutch as if that helps, it's a cheaper option. It can be done, and with a vizibleed kit, on your own. (just have some plasters ready for the dodgy areas around the top of the clutch pedal and master cylinder)
I'm not sure how you can visually check for a MAX mark on the master reservoir as it's so tucked away, but I always make sure I have removed the
condom and checked with my finger (that makes it all sound really rude, it's not meant to be.).
