No, it's nothing to do with the tourer. It's a bit odd but the pillar separating the front and rear doors is split into two 'posts': B and C. You might therefore describe your front door latch striker plate as being on the 'B' post and your rear door hinges on the 'C' post.
I agree that trying the cleaning is the first choice.
