Try the easy/less expensive fix first - lower engine mount. If that doesn't fix it then you can turn your attention to the clutch. If you are checking the fluid level in the master cylinder you need to unscrew the cap and remove the rubber seal that dips into the fluid.
If it is low don't fill it to the top because replacing the rubber seal will displace some fluid and it will drip all over your carpet.
