I'm hoping that its a relatively straight forward job to replace the seals on the thermostat housing as I am a bit of a mechanical numpty (I did manage to replace my inlet mainifold gasket though).

Are any special tools required?

Many thanks in advance
You should have ordered the complete assembly as it does not cost much. The non genuine version sold by Rimmers is actually genuine but not in Rover box.

I think you will find the housing is distorted, and will not provide enough compression on oring, unless the oring has been fitted incorrectly.

Silicon grease or perhaps vaseline for reassembly will help the oring insertion, and stop it from rolling which can also lead to leaks.
