I was tempted by both of those types as well but wasn't sure there'd be enough room to get them on and aligned more or less horizontally. A chain wrench won't do it because the chain gets jammed between the sump wall and the filter (handle too long).

Here's the cup tool.



There's not much chance of it spinning without turning the filter - it's too good a fit.
