I have found a motor that is virtually dimensionally identical. However it only has two permanent magnets and three wires in. It is off the BMW E36 for the air conditioning. It uses the same fixing of the fan itself.

Unlucky I guess, I've opened about eight fans and only one was worn exposing the bakelite (?).

BMW seem to be a minefield of different fans, I find one with the right three legged blade mounting and then the rear has four mounts unlike our three. Have you got a part no. for your near identical?
