You can try, but I understand the glue tends to show through the fabric too much, plus you need to scrape off all the decaying foam on the fabric and biscuit. I used something like this as a quick fix in my 45 -
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hemline-h71.../dp/B0032LVZL2. Just poke them into the fabric and then twist into the biscuit. Works, but not quite as aesthetically pleasing as the OPs solution.
