No you are right Simon but by reversing the block inside the black box that can't happen. The white plastic end pieces do actually click into place so if they were replaced by metal they would have to be the exact same size so they too would snap into place. I have reversed mine today and also done the tape mod that julesbass also mentioned and it really does make a difference. Prior to me changing the slide by 180 degree's the cables and the black box felt loose and ready to stop working at any time, now its a lot firmer.
