Maybe I should have said it's more noticable with light braking.
Since my moment with the vanishing front pad in Wales a brake overhaul has been on my list of things to get done, I've got a complete set of new discs and hoses in the cupboard along with some refurbed calipers (thanks Andy) so I'll get them on and see if it cures it.
If it turns out to be the ABS whats the answer there.
