That image was actually taken from my car (and chassis leg). The broken wire could not be seen with the headlight in place, even pulling on the loom did not reveal it. The break only became visible (that is exactly how it looked) when I removed the headlamp unit.

So if you check around the wiring and test etc, remove the headlamp unit also to check.
