Our VAX hoover went the same way, Brush bar motor went kaput, We have a Vax unit in one of the old cotton mills here in Bolton, I said I'll ask online if there's a spare part for it but the Missus didn't want it repaired as she said it was too heavy to push.
Just an excuse to get a new one.
I just use it in the garage now to hoover out the car.
