Caravans are expensive to buy and hold there value for a long time, unless they have major issues, so £700 is just not a lot of money to invest in one.
If you are handy at fixing things up and have the time, find a local dealer who specialises in caravan insurance write off's. You will be surprised at what you can get from them, for not a lot of money. A lot of good caravans suffer minor damage and are then written off by the insurers, all you need do is look at what is available and what you feel confident you could repair. Actual damage can range from hailstone dents, to having suffered a tyre blowout and the plastic wheel arch broken, to complete sides ripped out and stolen recovered.
They are bought by the trade, for the trade to repair them in their workshops as time permits and at give away prices.

I paid a 1/4 list for my caravan with some side skin damage, windows damage and plastic damage. Its owner had managed to scrap it against a steel post. I spent a couple of hundred on parts to repair it, a few weeks pottering about to fix it. If done properly, a new entire side panel alone would have cost £2000, plus fitting.
