The new version of the sensor has a specific link lead so both parts are needed.
A couple of years ago I bought a replacement sensor and link lead and the link lead turned out to be DOA.
That was disappointing as it was the first car part (First anything actually) I had bought that had a "Made in Egypt" label on it.
