Its actually quite easy, if you were to be in the engine management and select ecu checks and renewals with a new tune being available, then applying the download, you get a message saying it takes about 11 minutes (can't remember exactly how long it is) but it generally takes a lot longer. If you thought nothing was happening and cycled the ignition or the laptop or car battery went flat then you'd have problems
