Unlikely to be the turbo as the bearings are basically oil.
ie. Quiet.---They run at very high revs. Maybe up to 70,000 rpm.
No oil and the turbo would seize in seconds.
Sounds more like a slight air induction leak as it seems to appear when the engine demand for air increases with a greater throttle opening.
