Just received a mail this morning from a Norwegian friend originally from Rjukan, he was home recently and describes the difference in handling on the entertaining Norwegian roads between his early V6 and later 1.8T - seems the anti-roll bar deletion was not such a good idea. He also agrees that the early car is quieter.
