The ugly front end was the theme that the Vectra and Mondeo etc had for a short period of time. Then the front ends were smoothed out.
Remember that the Phoenix group only had money to change plastics such as bumpers and headlamps and very little otherwise. They had a range of 1980s reworks and a R75 on its 3rd year of production.
Worked in the design studio at Canley and 90% of the cars came to fruition like the R800 coupe and the R216 Gti with the full body kit and the Maestro turbo.
