He had it restored to a single chimney, added a corridor tender like it had new, (eventually he made that 2) and it was repainted LNER green again as 4472. It gave many years service in preservation, ultimately for operating reasons regaining its double chimney and German type smoke deflectors from the late 1950s BR era. 10 years ago it was bought by the National Railway Museum at York and the present rebuild started.
Pedant mode 2:
The smoke deflectors and double chimney, along with a single non-corridor tender, represent the last years of BR service. However as it continued in service in preservation, techically the mix and match condition it is in now (or shortly will be) in ARE historically correct as it has been there before!
