A definite must in any house nowadays.

Have 2 in our house and on Friday night was awoken to the smell of smoke but no alarm going off. Oops I thought something’s wrong panicked tested alarm which worked but a really strong smell of smoke.couldnt wee it but could smell it.
Darts down stairs and nothing but can still smell it. A quick sniff about couldn’t identify where it was coming from and the thought maybe next door as the fella is away working again so clothes on and outside couldn’t see anything in his house and no smell from his letterbox must have looked weird at 3 in the morning sniffing letterboxes but had to be sure it wasn’t his house on fire.
Had a quick search around out the back and then spotted it was the fella over the back fence with his log burner burning cheap crappy wood that stunk so must have wafted in the windows.

They are life savers.
