It was suggested that the pressure might be too low, I usually inflate to 31psi but they're now at 36. Will monitor it for a bit but I would be surprised if it was just the pressure.

I had a odd tyre wear on my Rover P4 , on only one tyre and that was a faulty tyre, the case was distorted. I am surprised your tyre place would check the alignment with a worn tyre . The wear can push over the wheel and its suspension on its rubber mounts and give a false reading
