Have you actually driven it? The ABS needs a short test drive to reset, just up the road (100m) should do it.
Fixed a friend's car with similar non-speedo problem during the summer, but in his case it was the bearing at fault. Here's the testing method:

Fixed with a good, known working, s/h bearing - took about 2 hours to fit.
