We made sure they were checked into our hotel last night Julien. He took us to dinner, then he perked up. It must have been his diabetes which had put into a low point.
Amazingly he is still working and has around 400 properties, mostly commercial across London. He gave us his business card and has invited us to visit him and his wife at their mansion in Regents Park. A self made man who came from nothing, an impressive character. Aside from that, I have time and respect for my elders
and it's true what you said, others would have turned a blind eye to their plight and ignored them completely.
