oil cooler is ok as I have been under the car taken the undertray off and looked.
also yesterday the car was on a ramp and two rover service blokes and me was under the car.
the only damp/wet area is around what would be the under the steering fluid container.
because the fluid from the steering fluid is red I put two and two together and thought it was coolant. it would seem I was wrong . its steering fluid .
only a few drops of water in the top of the oil filler cap. no mayo . but when he put his finger in to the oil filler he dragged out some gung.
so they think its the head gasket .
