The Camping and Caravan club was more relaxed, as it had a good mixture of old and new vans along with trailer tents and tents.... however the way to enjoy the C&C and gain from its benefits is to join in with your local District Association (DA) in Gateshead this was Durham DA

However a lot of DA meets are held on sites that are not always fully serviceable, and have no club houses etc, this is because the DA members made their own entertainment, with social nights, quizes, competitions etc

You can use C&C Sites where there are all the facilities, but we found them far to costly,

Plenty of sites out there that offer great pitches and facilities, without hiked up Club Prices

Totally agree Keith, we have used a few privately run sites a few times now and they are so much cheaper. If the club sites offered a discount to members then it would be worth the membership fee. I know that non members pay more, but the members' price is still too expensive
