So, today I popped over to The Wheel Specialist in Farnborough to collect my newly re-furbished wheel.
As per usual, they did a first rate job and the wheel looks factory fresh. Yayy! As I'm loading it into the Rover, I managed to let it slip and it falls face down onto concrete. Not Yayy!
I quickly checked the rim, and luckily no marks, so I say a silent thank you and drive home. When I open the boot to take the wheel out, I notice 3 big chunks taken out near the centre
. I guess I was so focussed on the edges of the wheel I didn't notice the marks in the centre. Gutted isn't the word.
I'll be paying them another visit on Thursday then, and hoping that their guarantee covers rank stupidity. I somehow doubt it though
.
This is likely to become one very expensive wheel.
Honestly, in the 13+ years that I've owned the Rover, I have never once let an alloy wheel fall face down, so why, when it finally does happen, does it have to be a freshly re-finished one, not even 5 minutes old.
