Fuel filter syndrome is possible if the car has the later type of filter. Check this and fit the clip if necessary in advance of the holiday.
It's unlikely to be the fuel pump.

Hi Simon!
This is the early type so I don't suspect the filter issue.
We have ordered both crank and camshaft sensor, so hope this resolves it. Probably the crank sensor, but take both in the same operation
Thinking this is the best bet for now
