That's a good question Ivar and bits of information about this are scattered in different sections of RAVE making it difficult to get a definitive answer.
It appears that you are correct that the immobiliser can disable the starter motor but in conjunction with the ECM it also controls the injectors, fuel pump and ignition coils. So in theory you may have one without the others!
Regarding fuel supply, normally I would advise checking for fitment of the filter clip and measuring the actual pressure (it should be 3.5 bar for the V6).
