What else is green in your interior? Door card armrests, dashboard top, centre cubby box lid?
If any of these are Ash Grey, then I would be inclined to believe that the Deep Sea Green seats would have been fitted after the car left Longbridge.
According to the Rover Electronic Parts Catalogue, the real wood dash was fitted to cars up until VIN
238547, after which it was the plastic wood version, where does your car's VIN fall, before or after?
Can you post up a picture of your interior, and possibly the wooden dash too.
