I am not sure if you are dreaming it up but I get that when the car is stationary but not on the move, I often put the heater on recirc though when in traffic to avoid sucking in fumes from other vehicles as some of them can be very nasty.

Sometimes I have driven behind certain vehicles and started to panic because I thought a fire was starting in my car but it was just the vehicle in front, there are some real problems in other peoples cars which they seem to be oblivious to.

Anyway if I was you I would just monitor the situation.
