Default Euro Tour - Part 2

Phew. So Part One got us to Hungary.

We spent a few days there, based in Salgotarjan up in the North, just beside the Slovakian border.

Went into Budapest a couple of times, where these next pics were taken. The best place to get a view of the city is up on top of the Buda hills. This first one was taken at the Citadella, which is topped by a fort and a huge statue overlooking the city. That's the River Danube, with the Elizabeth Bridge in the foreground.

Along the hill a wee bit, you can see Buda Palace on the left, with the Chain Bridge across the river, and the Parliament building on the opposite bank...

Next, we went along to Buda Palace itself, and along the limestone "Fishermen's Bastion" which overlooks the city:

On the way back up to Salgotarjan, we stopped at the Hungaroring for a look ...

The security guard on the gate got speaking to us, and said that, because we'd come all the way from Scotland, we could go for a drive around inside (as long as we didn't go on the track! ). So we had a look at the Pit Lane area and the statue garden which commemmorates past F1 Champions ...

Lewis Hamilton, Michael Schumacher and Jenson Button in those shots, if you were wondering ...
