Likewise we have a couple of Olympus DSLRs (we got a bit of a bug after buying the first one
)
However I would recommend them - why? Well a few reasons...
- because they are a bit like our 75s - generally much better spec'd than similarly priced models from the likes of Canon or Nikon (e.g. you get spot metering - you'd have to buy a Canon 30D to get that),
- the Olympus 4/3rds system is a complete ground up design for digital
- you can get loads of adapters for other makes of lenses, from old M42 screw to Hassleblad!
Anyway, one thing I would say is to try out a few cameras - we did and I still can't get on with Nikons (just as I couldn't with film ones), and I found the cheap Canons like the 350D, err , felt cheap.
We bought our first Oly DSLR from Currys of all places - they we're doing a twin lens kit for a bargain price.
The second came from Digital Depot, who I'd very highly recommend (I've been buying memory from them for years).
