I got a used sensor off ebay , and it works
For interest , I dismantled the old one and took a couple of pics which may be of interest . No sign of damp or corrosion in there .
I had researched these sensors , generic not Rover 75 , on the net and learnt that the way to test them is to use an ohmmeter across the 2 contacts ; these are the outer 2 of the 3 pins in the connector . A very low reading proving continuity should be the result . However , i could not get any reading on either the old duff one or the working replacement But the replacement works .......
A low reading would indicate a switch normally closed , I think , whilst no reading indicates normally open ? Anyone know how the YDB100310 works ?
