According to RAVE Terry it is indeed as straightforward as that.

Before you start, place a sheet of plastic underneath the brake reservoir cap to minimise fluid loss when you release the pipe unions. Contact with paintwork risks damage.

Keep the working area clean throughout.

It's recommended to release the two inlet pipes on the side of the ABS unit first. Record the positions of the four outlet pipes before disconnection.
Seal the open ends of the brake pipes to avoid dirt ingress.

Afterwards bleed the brakes in the following order. Don't turn on the ignition until this is completed manually.
  1. Left hand (NS) rear
  2. Right hand (OS) rear
  3. Left hand (NS) front
  4. Right hand (OS) front
Only the conventional manual bleeding method is specified by MG Rover in RAVE so diagnostic equipment is not needed.
