Yes big brouhaha going on over it, Even if this goes through there will only be enough e-fuels available for a fraction of the vehicles in the EU/UK for decades to come & that's if it's manufactured by renewable methods.
Transport & buildings have now been separated from the main ETS (emission trading scheme) & now have their own ETS2.
EU legislators are currently working on the ETS 2 (emission trading scheme) market for 'transportation and housing', There will still be 150 million older petrol/diesel vehicles on the roads across EU/UK after the petrol/diesel ban. The ETS 2 will be a cap-and-trade auction scheme with limited CO2 allowances limiting emissions of old and new vehicles.
