Default Roof Rail Trim Removal

In the recent heavy rain I noticed that my left hand A pillar was getting damp. I dont have a sun roof so guess its either the windscreen (looks fine) or a problem under the black trim bars set in to the roof.
Any idea how they are fixed / how you remove them?

I presume they have sealed ends - or do they have a drain channel down the A pillar?
