All 3 were/are Guide Dog puppies.
We puppy walked Quizzie from 8 weeks old until she went into actual Guide Dog training at about 17 months old. She didn't make it so we took her back and now she's used to familiarise new puppy walkers at Guide Dogs puppy class. She (allegedly
) knows the commands etc.
while the new human gets to know the sort of things we do and the other humans & puppies in the class before they get their own bundle of 8 week old joy.
Bertie goes into training tomorrow. Fingers crossed for him.
Zamba has a few more months of puppy walking to go before he’ll be off into training.
Brilliant to do. Some truly remarkable folks that do it. Heart wrenching when they go. Fantastic feeling when they go on to genuinely change someone's life.
