My heatshields are missing and I asked the mot guy about this and his answer was...
If they are loose it's a fail...
If they are missing its a pass...
Then asked me when is the last time I saw a car catch fire due to a missing heat shield? Never I said.
There you go then,if its not there I can't test it.
I guess different mot testers have different ideas on the rules
