Good morning Steve, you did the right thing
When something like that happens there is a school of thought that for those who self-harm cutting themselves or make an announcement or a threat to end their life, they are asking for help. Regardless of this, accidents do happen or the situation escalates, if they feel no one is listening and a tragedy occurs. From my experience, it’s the ones who don’t say anything or who have a “smiling depression” and have little or no insight into their depression, even delusional........ High risk.
