Back in November 2014 my clutch pedal stuck down and left me stranded and unable to move so I had my car recovered to my local garage who have done a lot of work on various cars in my family.
Anyway, they diagnosed a failed slave cylinder which had dumped its fluid all over the clutch plate, bell housing and flywheel and contaminated the lot. So, £700+ later for a new clutch, slave cylinder etc etc the car was fine.
A couple of months later exactly the same thing happened, the pedal stuck down and I was stranded, only this time, and I have no idea why, I lifted the pedal with my foot and it's been fine ever since...and i'd never heard of the sticking down clutch pedal phenomenon until reading it here just now.

Now, I would like to think that my local garage is 100% trustworthy but...

No, surely not!
