Early cars like yours (built in 2000) had a different fan circuit which did not need a resistor. So you cannot easily add one to your set-up. You will need to replace it with a resistor system from
Arctic.

No you haven't Tom. You have a 2 speed fan without a resistor. Are you DIY-minded? You could take off the front bumper assembly and see for yourself.
