I bought a new battery and put it on the car, started it and everything is spot on. Checked across the batter when engine is off and its reading ~12.3v and while the engine is running its reading 14.2v. I turned the heater on, rear heated window, both heated seats, lights and checked it...14.03v.
However, when I turned the car off and checked the voltage, it was slowly dropping from around 12.30v to about 12.20v and sort of hovered around that. I don't want to leave the new battery one all night incase it gets drained, so i've put the original battery one and its starting reading was 9.03v, i'll check it in the morning and see if that has dropped any more.

Your new battery is showing the symptoms of being dud too, or you bought it in a discharged state. It is way too low.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.
I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.
