Sure we had the exact same issue with front arms 10 years ago from x part and rimmer.

Now I just buy the cheapest front arms and if I get two years I accept it. Rear ones tbh I keep best ones off...

Smoothest engine in the entire range, and smoothest kv6 overall.

Always felt the 2.0 should have had about 175 bhp and the 2.5 around 210 ish as standard.

As I said in the tuning group bottom end torque is shockingly bad. Would have been far better with a 320d turbo matted to a 1749 or even a hybrid 1749 that a 2256 regardless if its vnt or not running...

Its sticking throttle in cold weather. Clean it all up, cover in petrol jelly and your sorted. Annual clean before the ice and cold. Same thing as old school ice carbing.

Truthfully you should check them for every mot, it is so simpl E to take the rear disc off and get a nice visual inspection, less that 15 minutes a side if you stop for a cuppa.
