K Seal - does it work?
Just wondering if anyone has tried this to fix unidentifiable coolant leaks (like the one I have).
Perhaps they named it after the K series? Ha Ha :) http://www.k-seal.co.uk/k-seal.html |
Yes this is the best on the market !! as it seals leaks permanently.
Recomend highly;) dont pay too much no more than £12 |

Thanks Adam, will give it a whirl (found one for 7 quid on ebay inc. postage) |
buy it bargain price. but allthough this is classed as a permanent fix there is no substitute for fixing the problem properly!!

K seal is virtually guaranteed.......to wreck your engine. Unlike other engines the small bore coolant pathways in the K series block up quicker than you can say K seal. This is most likely to lead to a blown headgasket and a very big bill.

If anyone needs another bottle, I've a new one you can have for £9 posted - bought for an old heap but it passed on before it I could fill it...
My motorfactor said all the garages are buying it from them and recommended it. |
i hate the thought of the stuff...quick fix until your on the hard shoulder on a cold night, investigate the the problem and fix it...cheaper in the long run
|
on a par with eggs or mustard put in your coolant system, if you dont block the engine waterways you will probably clog your heater matrix- the stuff should be banned

Do you know of any examples where this has happened. From reviews I've read so far (including another MG Rover forum), they seem to be fairly favourable towards this product. I haven't read anything documenting the fact that this stuff kills K series engines. Anyone had first hand experience of this product (good or bad please?) I mean this product in particular - not radseal etc. Thanks |
it seems people are basing there thoughts on previous bad experience with old technology!!!
K seal is a new modern day medicine for allready broken engines, sure its not ideal but if the car is worth a grand and the repair is a grand it seems logical to want to try a cheap fix. All engines work on the same principal and all have oil ways and water ways the k series is not unique! |
