A V6 belt question

My brother's V6 belts aren't due until the very end of next year, and between the last change and now it has done 8,000 miles - my question is, with it standing from last year will that make a difference, or am I okay until Dec 19 still?

I'd be happy driving it until it was due in Dec 19.
