Rear light - no voltage
Hiya - Just wondered if anyone could possibly help with a problem that is driving me nuts!!
Problem: Near side rear light not coming on (Voltage for lamp feed is 0V when measured in cluster panel) All other lights function correctly. [Brake light on dimly (OK - that's as it should be if a faulty rear light is detected)] Checked: Bulb (and swapped for known good) Voltage is 0V for bulb supply (the problem) No water ingress anywhere Does anyone have any suggestion as to how I can track down this problem? Many thanks :} |

open and replug a few times to break any corrosion. do you get the bulb out warning?? |
Thanks for that suggestion. Will try in a few minutes... it's just started chucking it down here!!
Yes, I do get the dash warning. |

if the circuit back to the LSM is open or grounded then check for damage to the cable, plugs or headers. |
Problem solved! :}
Turns out it was pin 2 on the cluster & connector had excessive verdigris!! Thought I'd cleaned it well enough (and used contact cleaner) - but not good enough apparently. When I metered it I hadn't spotted how bad it still was! Thanks for the suggestions, appreciated. |
Excellent
Another excellent forum result.
